I’ve been meaning to invest in this album for a little while because I absolutely adore Jon Boydon’s voice. Three Four is a great collection of rocky/bluesy songs which are perfect for Jon’s voice.
The songs have been carefully collected by Jon and are performed passionately. Although there are covers on the album, Jon puts his own stamp on some classic songs like ‘Runaround Sue’, ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl?’ and ‘Drops of Jupiter’.
Jon did write one song on the album ‘Fallen Angel’ (nothing to do with Jersey Boys!) It’s a lovely song with beautiful lyrics which make me hope we hear much more of Jon’s original material in the future.
My personal favourites include the album’s opener ‘Hard To Handle’ , ‘Runaround Sue’ (it really suits Jon’s voice and is a highlight of the album for me) and ‘Fallen Angel’.
I think you would particularly enjoy this album if you’re into your rockier music, that said, I think there’s something for everyone on the album so it’s well worth having a listen to!
